Careers
Miss Robins, Assistant Headteacher is our school Careers Leader.
Careers Advice
At Bullers Wood School for Boys, we provide a comprehensive programme of careers education plus information, advice and guidance. This stretches from Year 7 through to Year 11.
All students have access to the Unifrog Careers platform which can be accessed both inside and outside of school. This platform allows students to access a wide database of information related to careers and interests, as well as showing clear Labour Market Information for both their local area and nationally. The platform also allows students to compare all post-16 options available to them, including schools, sixth-form colleges and vocational colleges and from course options including A Levels, T Levels and BTECs.
Gatsby Benchmarks
As a school, we are committed towards working towards meeting all Gatsby Benchmarks in order to ensure our students have the best possible Careers Education.
This includes hosting a wide range of guest speakers into the school to ensure all students have encounters with employers during their time with us, ensuring careers education is embedded into our day to day academic curriculum and encouraging Year 10 students to complete a week of Work Experience in the Summer term.
Provider Access Legislation
Please see information in the Careers policy below which sets out the school’s arrangements for managing the access of providers to pupils at the school for the purpose of giving them information about the provider’s education or training offer. This complies with the school’s legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.
