Student wellbeing
We take student wellbeing very seriously and want all students to be happy and healthy. Our Personal Development programme, pastoral systems and student voice gathering play a key role in supporting student wellbeing at Bullers Wood School for Boys. However, we recognise that sometimes students may benefit from additional support.
Classcharts Wellbeing Alert
All students and parents have access to the classcharts platform in order to check homework and positive achievement points. On this platform, there is also a wellbeing alert function, where students and parents are able to notify us of a wellbeing issue and give us brief information. This is then picked up by school staff and conversations and a check in with the student are had.
Please note that this is not an emergency facility and it is not monitored 24/7.
School Counsellors
We have two school counsellors who work with students inside of school on a Tuesday and a Wednesday. Referrals to the school counsellor can be made by your son's Head of Year, with both parental and student consent. This support normally consists of a series of 6 - 8 weekly sessions, offering therapeutic support.
Bromley Y
We work closely with Bromley Y and have a fortnightly visit from a member of their Mental Health Support Team. Students can be referred to sessions via the school directly, or parents may make a referred via the Bromley Y website. Bromley Y also run assemblies and workshops inside of school on themes such as 'managing your emotions', 'changing friendships' and 'transition'.
